His full name is Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz As Sudais. He was born in Anza Clan Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1960. He memorized Holy Quran when he was just 12 years old. He graduated in the year of 1979 and in 1983 he got a degree in Islamic Shariah From Riyadh University. He has done Master's in 1987 and completed Doctorate in Islamic Shariah in 1995.
Then he served in Riyadh University and then in Umm ul Qura University as Assistant Professor.
At the age of 24 he was selected as Imam in Grand Mosque. Al Sudais has held the position of Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah over the past three decades.
In 2005, Imam Sheikh Sudais was named by the Dubai International Holy Quran Award Organizing Committee as its 9th annual "Islamic Personality of the Year" in recognition of his devotion to the Quran and Islam.
He is married and have five daughters and four Sons. He believes that he has become Imam just because of prayers of his mother.
Sheikh Sudais is very famous for his heart touching style of recitation of the Holy Quran and his voice. May Allah be pleased with Him.
